A white admiral butterfly decided to take a long drink from the oriole feeder. I was lucky enough to be in the right spot at the right time with the camera.
Thank goodness for rapid fire buttons, automatic focus and a great zoom lens on my camera.

You can see the proboscis extending right into the nectar in the feeder.

The markings on the top were lovely … blues with red dots, blue and white stripes, and white sections that stand out against the black wings.

It remained on the feeder for a few minutes.

With the wings folded up you can see the red dots better, but the blue can’t be seen.
