Beside the River

For a few weekends now we have made the journey from our house to the local landfill site to dump bags of leaves and garden debris.  There is municipal pick up if you actually live in the city area but as we live in the country we have to dispose of it ourselves.  The van get loaded with 13 to 15 big paper sacs full of stuff acceptable at the landfill.

It is about a 12 minute drive from our house along some main and some back roads.   The scenery has been very colourful lately and I always have my camera with me.  The Thanksgiving weekend we stopped at a pull in spot to enjoy the river.  This is the Trent River as it flows through Frankford.   Awhile ago I posted about the locks at Frankford.

The water was so still and it created amazing reflections.  It was a peaceful spot to sit and enjoy the gorgeous Fall weather.

The part of the river closest to the bottom of the photo is the canal and the top part is the actual Trent River itself.

I just had to have a photo of this sign posted by the side of the road.  I’ve never seen one of these signs before. Unfortunately we didn’t see any turtles that day.

It’s time to share where we live with Our World TuesdayWeekend Reflections and Signs, Signs
