Do you love apples?   How about apple pie?

You will be in apple heaven when you visit The Big Apple by Colbourne, Ontario.

The Big Apple is visible from highway 401 and just recently it has been updated and the Big Apple is wearing a mask.

Stay safe is the message it is sending to all who pass by.

There is lots to keep the kids occupied … a petting zoo, a train ride, miniature golf, a go kart track, and lots of space to run around.

There is all sorts of things inside … delicious baking, snacks, hot food, gifts … and lots and lots of apple pies to purchase.  There is a large viewing area to watch the pies being baked.

You can’t resist leaving without an apple pie to take home. There is nothing better than apple pie and ice cream.

Lots of things have changed during the covid pandemic – masks are required inside, hand sanitizer is offered, an arrow system on the floor helps guide you through the building, inside limited seating is available but there is lots outside.

You can go inside the apple and climb to the top where you get a fantastic view of the surrounding countryside. I’m not sure if you can still go inside during the pandemic.

Several of the photos were taken prior to the pandemic. It is a favourite place for us to visit on our way to Wicklow Beach or a nearby Nature Sanctuary.

I’m sharing with: My Corner of the World

I remember seeing the Big Apple on route to Ottawa or Montreal. I’ve always wondered if you can go inside the Big Apple.

Yes you can climb to the top of the apple, but not sure if you can during these times with lots of restrictions. I added a couple of photos in a collage that I took from the top a couple of years ago. We have stopped there this year but only to take a photo of the apple with its mask on.

I saw this on Twitter, the mask!
Thanks for the tour! I doubt we’ll ever go, now. Hubby cannot have either ice cream, nor pie.
Plus, road trips are kinda off our radar!

We were driving by on the way home and had to stop for a picture, and of course pop in for a bathroom break.

This would be so wonderful to see and shop. I love apple pie. We have some places similar to this back in Iowa we would go visit. Now everything is shut down. Our children are really missing out on a lot. Such a sad world we people are living in.
    Take care.
