This week we saw our first and second snowfall. The second one was unexpected and we even got to use the snowblower for the first time this snowy season. there is more in the forecast for this weekend.
So what better time than to start a winter snowflake embroidery pattern. This pattern is available from etsy and uses simple stitches like running stitch and straight stitch. Mine is slightly different from the original pattern.
After transferring the pattern onto white fabric the stitching began.
The trees were first and I chose to change the direction of the stitches and fill the trees in a bit more.
Once I finished off the teacup I decided I didn’t really like the placement of the snowflakes in the top part of the pattern, so I ironed them away and redrew them. For these snowflakes I used two strands of white and one strand of very light blue, just to make them stand out a bit more.
Now while it is snowy and wintery outside I have a little bit of winter to display inside. I had also shared how to make my bigger plastic snowflakes on the first snowy day.
I get lots of inspiration from other stitchers at Slow Sunday Stitching and appreciate all the visits and comments from there. Visit them and gather some inspiration for yourself.
