It was so much fun collecting sea glass at the various beaches while in British Columbia. I now have quite a collection of different colours and sizes. I wanted to make something fairly quickly to have out as a reminder of our fantastic trip. The first project I opted to make was a sea glass candle.
You can make this with an empty candle jar with a tight lid, a small glass votive jar, a candle and some sea glass.
Place the votive glass holder inside the larger jar. I didn’t worry too much that the glass votive came just a bit above the rim of the jar as the lid still fit perfectly.
The glass jar has to be wider than the votive glass jar and the space between the two is where you put the sea glass. For this candle I used white and amber/brown sea glass.
This is the kind of project that you can take apart and remake with different colours.
Light the candle and the sea glass glows and sparkles. I used a nightlight candle but you could use any candle that fits in your votive jar, even one of the led candles.
This was a quick and easy craft to make.

So pretty! What a wonderful and easy thing to make. I’m not “crafty” by any means, but I figure I could manage something like this. How lovely this would look in a group of say, 3, on a little square or round tray, for a ‘centrepiece’ of sorts. Or lined up on an oblong tray. Great use for the LED ‘votives’ I don’t know what to do with!

How pretty! I also put mine in a pretty glass or crystal vase and sit it in my window to catch the sunlight. It reminds me of happy summer days and my life in Nova Scotia.

I’ve got lots of small pieces in cute little jars on the window ledge, just need to sun to come out and shine on them

I’m not sure I know what sea glass is!!!
Linda aka Crafty Gardener
Sea glass is bits of glass that have been in the ocean for years being broken and tumbled in the waves and ending up on the beach. I plan on doing a post about sea glass in several days.

That’s so pretty! I love the effect when the candle is on. Thank you for sharing at The Really Crafty Link Party. Pinned!
