I have many allergies and try to avoid all manufactured scents and cleaning products where possible.
Homemade window cleaner
- 1 part water or rubbing alcohol
- 1 part vinegar
- 3 drops of dish liquid
Homemade eye glass cleaner
- 3 parts rubbing alcohol
- 1 part water
- 2 drops dish liquid
Homemade cleaner for your floors
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup vinegar
- 5 drops dish liquid
- to remove cap of store bought cleaner, put it in hot water till the top twists off (about 2 minutes)
I pour liquid Lysol into a spray bottle and use instead of the commercial spray cans or bottles. Homemade is a lot less expensive than store bought.
Homemade liquid soap
Hint: if you have a baking pan that has a build up of stains/grease on it and can’t see to remove it. Try a paste made of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide spread over the stain. Leave it for a few hours and then wash away, constantly rubbing with a paper towel. Depending on the build up you might need to do the application a few times.
Help get rid of ants in the house: 1 part vinegar and 1 part water mixed in a spray bottle Spray it around windows and doors where ants come in to deter them. Also spray directly on ants and then wipe them up with a damp paper towel or cloth.
