Where has the year gone?
The month started our with a bit of snow, but then it warmed up and we had rain, rain, rain, which washed away any snow that accumulated.
Not a lot going on in the garden in December. The majority of photos are taken through the windows. I did some indoor gardening and grew an amaryllis. This was one that I didn’t have to water, and it had an amazing show of blooms.

We had two very strong wind storms, the first of which caused a power outage for 7 hours in our area. We had some damage to the soffits and a bit of siding and the company came out within a couple of days and fixed it all.
Temperatures rose to around 15 Celsius on some days and we had lots of rain. Most unusual for December in my part of the world.
On December 18 we were under a winter storm warning Would this be snow for Christmas?

After a few days it was mostly gone.
Lots of winter birds enjoy the feeders.

The winter season officially began with the shortest daylight hour day. At least from now on the days will have a little bit more daylight in them. There were some gorgeous sunsets.

I hope your gardening year was enjoyable and successful, no matter what type of gardening you did.

Hoping that all gardeners have a bountiful, plentiful and beautiful garden in 2022.
I’m sharing these views of the garden with Through my Garden Gate and Mosaic Monday.

We have spent most of the month looking at the garden from inside too! I always breathe a sigh of relief when we reach the shortest day despite it usually turning colder for a few months it is good to have the days getting longer. Thank you for sharing your lovely garden with us it is always a delight to visit you. Sarah x

Hi Linda,
Happy New Year.
Nice hearing from you.
Jeannie
I do think taking pictures through the windows is the wise thing to do. It looks so cold outside but the amaryllis looks bright and cheerful.

We have had a big year. Let’s hope things settle down somewhat.
Time to shovel snow, but soon it will be spring!
Happy New Year!

Linda, I enjoy your pictures whether taken out in your gardens or through the window. It is colder here today but we have had sunshine. It is almost 4:30 and still daylight, yey!
May 2022 become a better year.

After a fairly mild December, we’re finally getting some snow and frigid temperatures this month. It is exciting to see the days sloooowly get longer!

Linda,
So nice to hear from you!! Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by!! Our Winter here in NEPA has not been too bad in the way of snow and ice…we are well belong our average but most of our big snow storms here come in March so time will tell….We usually can’t expect Spring until the end of April, beginning of May…
Stay safe, healthy and happy!!
Hugs,
Debbie
